An over half-century-old fish and chips spot just opened a new Vancouver location
When thinking about where to get fish and chips in and around Vancouver, one of the first spots that comes to mind for many is Cockney Kings Fish and Chips. Now, the brand has just opened its doors in a new part of Vancouver along Main Street in Mount Pleasant.
“After 60 years of serving classic English-style fish and chips, Cockney Kings is proud to bring our tradition to Mount Pleasant,” shared the restaurant on Instagram

Cockney Kings, which is well known for its all-you-can-eat fish and chips deal at its Burnaby and New Westminster outposts, has been serving the community since it opened in 1965.
Similar to its Kitsilano location (which opened in 2023), you won’t be able to get its all-you-can-eat fish and chips deal at this new spot. However, it’s still available at its New Westminster and Burnaby locations.
If fish and chips aren’t quite your style, there’s plenty of other tasty options that Cockney Kings offers, including tacos, which come with your choice of cod or shrimp (or you can mix and match), served on corn tortillas with house-made pico de gallo, shredded cabbage, and topped with Cockney Kings’ famous What-What sauce.
The restaurant also serves oysters, Louisiana shrimp, fish burgers, calamari, and many more seafood delicacies.
Additionally, on Feb. 22, Cockney Kings is holding a grand opening celebration at its new Main Street location. It promises there will be contests, giveaways, food specials, and more family-friendly fun.
“Whether youâre a longtime fan or discovering us for the first time, we’d love to welcome you in. Come see your new neighbourhood fish & chips shop,” added the restaurant.
Many took to the comments of the Instagram post to share their excitement for the new location.
“Hallelujah!!!! There is good in this world!!! Bye-bye diet!!!” said one user.
“First Kitsilano and now this? Oh hellz yes,” added another.
“Congratulations!! A warm welcome to the Main Street neighbourhood,” said a third.
