Coldplay's Chris Martin is coming to Vancouver for Invictus Games

The Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 is just days away, and excitement continues to grow with the announcement that Coldplay frontman Chris Martin will perform during the opening ceremony.

Martin joins a stacked entertainment lineup for the highly anticipated event at BC Place on Saturday, February 8.

Fans in the stadium will also see superstars Katy Perry, Noah Kahan, and Nelly Furtado for the seventh instalment of the Invictus Games.

“His opening ceremony performance promises to celebrate hope, resilience, courage, and the unconquered Invictus Spirit at the very heart of the Games,” said Invictus Games in a release.

Chris Martin and Coldplay have sold over 100 million albums worldwide and have won seven Grammys. He also composed the Invictus anthem for the first Games in 2014.

The Invictus Games brings together veterans and current serving members, including the wounded, injured, and sick, to compete in a variety of sports. The first Invictus Games took place in London, England, and has since grown to be a worldwide event.

Over 500 competitors from up to 25 nations will compete in the Winter Hybrid Games.

The closing ceremonies of the Invictus Games will also bring together some huge stars, including Jelly Roll, Barenaked Ladies, and The War and Treaty.
