20 celebrities you can spot in Vancouver in July

Hello July ⁠— Bring on the sunshine, high temps, and celebrity faces of course!

In Hollywood North, it seems like there’s always a chance that a celebrity is right around the corner – waiting to be spotted grabbing an early morning coffee or maybe a few late night drinks. But don’t leave it up to chance, especially when we can tell you exactly who to keep your eyes peeled for around town.

Here are 20 celebrities to try and spot in Vancouver this July.

Jason Priestley

Jason Priestley will be in the North Vancouver area until the end of July shooting for the new reboot of Beverly Hills 90210. Known as a teen idol, Priestley rose to fame at a young age playing Brandon Welsh on the hit Fox show — which ran for 10 seasons.

Also joining Priestley on set is longtime actress Jennie Garth, who also starred in the original Beverly Hills 90210 series. Widely recognized as Kelly Taylor on the show, Garth is also known for starring in the sitcom What I Like About You alongside Amanda Bynes, and appearing on Dancing with the Stars. Fans may also remember when she made an appearance in the 2008 spin-off of 90210 as Kelly.

Also joining her former cast-mates on set in North Vancouver this month is Tori Spelling – known for playing Donna Martin in the original series which was produced by her father, Aaron Spelling. She also appeared in the previous 90210 spin-off.

Shannen Doherty

Shannen Doherty may also be spotted in the Vancouver area this July filming for the reboot of Beverly Hills 90210 in which she plays Brenda Walsh. Known to have a bit of “bad girl” reputation in the 90’s, Doherty also starred in the 1998 TV series Charmed and was featured in Playboy magazine multiple times.

Ian Ziering

Ian Ziering will be in North Vancouver this month as well for the reboot of the 90210 series in which he is known for playing Steve Sanders. Ziering has also made appearances on shows like Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity EditionCelebrity Apprentice, and Dancing with the Stars.

Another 90210 cast member to be on the lookout for this month is Brian Austin Green, known for playing David Silver on the show. You may also remember seeing him in other series like Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Anger Management.

Freddie Highmore

Best known for his creepy portrayal of Norman Bates in the TV series Bates Motel, Freddie Highmore will be in the Metro Vancouver area filming for the third season of The Good Doctor. Highmore has been acting since he was a child and has starred in films like Charlie and the Chocolate FactoryFinding Neverland, and The Spiderwick Chronicles among others.

Ruby Rose

Ruby Rose may be spotted in Vancouver this month filming the first season of the series Batwoman. Rose is best known for her role in Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black, along with movies like John Wick: Chapter 2, Pitch Perfect 3 and The Meg. 

Will Ferrell

If you’re lucky enough, you may spot Will Ferrell in the Metro Vancouver area this July! Ferrell is in town as an executive producer for the new TV series Motherland. This funnyman is widely recognized for his comedic roles in movies like Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Stepbrothers, Talladega Nights, Daddy’s Home, Get Hard and who could forget when he dressed up in tights in Elf.

John Cena

Although it hasn’t been officially confirmed, WWE legend John Cena may likely be spotted in Vancouver this month for a cameo role in the feature film The Main Event. Cena has also starred in movies like The Marine, 12 Rounds, Trainwreck, and most recently Blockers.

Back in action for the sixth season of The Flash, Grant Gustin will be on location in Vancouver this July. Gustin has also had roles in shows like 90210Glee along with making appearances in Legends of TomorrowSupergirl, and Arrow.

KJ Apa

Oh, Archie *sigh* who can resist this red headed cutie?!

KJ Apa will be in the Vancouver area filming for the fourth season of Riverdale. Apa is an up and coming actor from New Zealand who snagged the lead role of Archie in Riverdale and also starred in the feature film A Dog’s Purpose.

Lili Reinhart

Lili Reinhart will also join Apa on location in Vancouver for Riverdale. Reinhart has the lead role of Betty in the series and has also made appearances in Law & Order: Special Victim’s Unit, along with The Good NeighborMiss Stevens, and Forever’s End.

Of course, there would be no Betty without Veronica! Camila Mendes will also be in Vancouver filming for the fourth season of Riverdale. Rumour has it that Mendes had her first acting job on an IKEA commercial before going on to star in Riverdale as main character Veronica.

Cole Sprouse

Rounding out this foursome is Cole Sprouse, known as character Jughead Jones and narrator of the Riverdale series.

Sprouse rose to fame at an early age starring alongside his twin brother in Disney Channel’s The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. He also starred in Big Daddy and even a few Friends episodes – remember Ross’s adorable son?

Ron Livingston may be spotted in Vancouver this month. Livingston is in town for his latest role in season two of A Million Little Things. Livingston has starred in TV series like Boardwalk EmpireBand of Brothers, and Standoff, or maybe you remember him back in the day as Carrie Bradshaw’s beau Jack Berger from HBO’s Sex and the City.

Melissa Benoist may be spotted in Vancouver this July to film season five of the hit show Supergirl. Benoist has made appearances in GleeHomelandThe Good Wife and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Greg Poehler will be in town this month for his lead role in the series You Me Her. Poehler is the brother of popular comedian and actress Amy Poehler, and rumour has it she actually inspired him to leave his job as a lawyer and pursue acting!

This 19-year-old has been acting since she was a child and last year she snagged the lead role in Netflix’s hit show Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Kiernan Shipka is mostly known for her role as Sally Draper in Mad Men, or maybe you remember her voice from the animated series, The Legend of Korra.
