For the first time in 176 days, Canucks fans shotgunned beer en masse on social media, as Jake Virtanen scored his first-ever playoff goal.

It was a big one too for the 18-goal scorer, as Virtanen beat Blues goalie Jake Allen short-side to tie the game at three, before Tyler Motte scored the eventual game-winning goal just over two minutes later.

Shotgun Jake burst out of his playoff slumber for two points on the night, as he also assisted on J.T. Miller’s goal, after failing produce a point in the previous seven postseason games.

The Canucks now lead the series 3-2 and can send the Stanley Cup champs home with another win on Friday.

Canucks fans have been enthusiastically shotgunning beer for the Abbotsford native for two seasons now, but they took it to a new level for the playoffs. Turns out, Shotgun Jake is the perfect way to celebrate while remaining physically distant, as one group illustrated on a Zoom call.

But we’ll let dweeb — the shotgun kingĀ — kick things off, with some of the best of the first-ever playoff edition of #ShotgunJake:
