While Canada Day this year means a day off in the middle of the workweek, those planning to partake in outdoor activities around Metro Vancouver may want to pack a raincoat, or possibly even an umbrella.

The weather on Wednesday, July 1, is expected to be primarily overcast according to Environment Canada, with a chance of showers mixed in, according to The Weather Network.

And while this forecast may look a little discouraging for those hoping to host a barbecue or get out into nature, there is fortunately no shortage of virtual and online events taking place in a number of communities this year due to restrictions on public gatherings as the pandemic continues.
