Well folks, it’s almost here.

Canada has officially been a Confederation for 150 years – and that’s a big number by North American standards – so it’s time for us Canucks to celebrate this milestone the best way we know how, eating and drinking all the patriotic goodies we can get our hockey-playing-syrup-loving hands on!

This occasion is so big that everyone is doing something special to make July 1 the most delicious day in Canadian history.

The Fairmont Chateau Whistler’s signature Canada 150 Cocktail is created with Vancouver Island Sheringham Gin and housemade preserve made of local organic raspberries. This drink is topped with foam formed from Quails’ Gate Optima late harvest wine and garnished with a gold-dipped maple leaf. Guests who order this will receive the gold leaves and crystal coupe glass the cocktail is served in, as well as a personalized jar of honey-raspberry preserve and recipe card so they may recreate their own Canadian cocktail at home.
