New Filipino dessert shop in Metro Vancouver is an ube lover's dream
If you’re anything like us, you’ve been keeping tabs on the Cake It Easy location that recently opened in Metro Vancouver, which boasts a menu filled with everyone’s favourite purple yam: ube. But before you make the trek to try these sweets, here’s what you need to know.
Cake It Easy’s newest spot, located at 800 Carnarvon Street inside New Westminster station, currently offers a limited menu compared to its sister location in Vancouver.
According to Cake It Easy’s Instagram, you’ll be able to find all of its ube drinks on the menu in New Westminster, as well as mini cakes and slices. Additionally, it serves bubble teas, milk teas, specialty lattes, individual bites, cookies, and bubble waffles. In the future, taho (silken tofu) and halo-halo will soon be available at this location, too.

Its Vancouver location, which is its production facility, currently serves all of its mini cakes and slices as well as coffee, limited specialty coffees, halo halo, and cold drinks. However, bubble tea, ube lattes, coconut lattes, matcha lattes, and bubble waffles are not sold here. So, if you want to get your hands on an ube latte, make sure you go to the right location.
But even if you end up at its Vancouver location accidentally and are craving some ube, don’t worry. Both locations will have limited 6ā ube flan and 6ā ube rival available, as well as 6ā sans rival cakes.
For those who are unfamiliar, Cake It Easy is a Filipino dessert shop that started as a made-to-order-only bakery that operated through its website until it opened its Vancouver location in February 2023. One of its most popular cakes, the ube rival, is a moist ube cake with layers of cashew and ube buttercream.

Its New Westminster location is currently softly open from January 3 to 8 and has a grand opening scheduled for January 11.
