11 of the best things we ate in Vancouver this month

Jun 27 2026, 3:30 pm

Another month has quickly gone by, and in all the FIFA craziness taking over the city, it’s nice to sit back and reminisce on what happened this June. For us, it was a month filled with plenty of great eats.

While we dined at some great restaurants, some dishes stood out more than others. So, we compiled a list of our favourites (listed in no particular order) to hopefully inspire you the next time you’re dining out.

From a kick-ass fried chicken sandwich to a lobster feast, these are some of the best things we ate in and around Vancouver this month.

The Tarragon Fried Chicken Sandwich from Bam Bam

Tarragon ranch, pickle apple and fennel, and green garlic all make this fried chicken sandwich one of our faves in the city. Pair that with a Cherry Pie Matcha, and you’re in for one heck of a lunch.

Lod Chong from Song by Kin Kao

We had come for the cocktails and mango sticky rice, but this traditional Thai dessert stole our hearts. The bowl consists of creamy coconut milk, house-made pandan strings, coconut granita, young coconut, corn, and taro. We’ll definitely be coming back for this one.

All the spot prawns from Richmond’s Fisherman’s Table

Spot prawn season was in full effect, and we took advantage whenever we could. Specifically, as part of Steveston’s Spot Prawns and Seafood Celebration, the city hosted an event spotlighting five local restaurants, each serving a dish highlighting local seafood. Spoilers: it was a lot of spot prawns, and it was all delicious. Restaurants included Catch Kitchen and Bar, Fairmont’s Globe @YVR, Lavash Seaside Grill. Steveston Built Local Taphouse and Grill, and Steveston Seafood House.

Listen, give us a bowl and spoon, and we’d absolutely devour this spring pea puree. It was all sorts of fresh, and we’d happily come back and devour multiple of these given the opportunity. Plus, who doesn’t love burrata?

Dungeness Crab Raviolo from Chez Céline

Marco Ovies/Dished

This Spring Greens Raviolo with Dungeness Crab was on a whole other level of luxurious. Once broken into, a perfectly runny egg yolk came spilling out, mixing with the sauce. We’ll take 10, please.

Aburi Iwate A5 Wagyu Steak from Minami

best vancouver food

Marco Ovies/Dished

You’d be hard-pressed to find a better cut of meat than Iwate A5 Wagyu, and Minami is cooking it right, serving it with a miso mustard endive confit, celeriac purée, yuzu kosho, and Suntory whisky veal jus.

Foie on Toast from Torafuku

best vancouver food

Marco Ovies/Dished

When a restaurant has been around for 10 years, the way Torafuku has, it obviously has to be doing something right. And at Torafuku, it’s serving standout food alongside some of the best service in Vancouver. The Foie on Toast was an easy favourite, especially with the toast being this delicate shokupan and the foie being topped with fruit gel and candied pistachios. Other favourites of our visit included a Crab and Uni pasta and a cocktail called Matcha Madness that we’ll be thinking about for days to come.

Korean fried chicken and kimchi gruyère waffle from Dachi

best vancouver food

Marco Ovies/Dished

Dachi is the type of restaurant that makes you feel sexy just by eating there. With bites like Scallop Crudo topped with pickled rhubarb, horseradish, Athiana Acres popcorn, and lemon balm, to Fried Tofu smothered in sweet and spicy sauce served with generous dollops of cashew mayo, there’s plenty to get excited about here. However, its most recent feature item — the Korean Fried Chicken with and Kimchi Gruyere Waffle — is worth visiting for alone. Did we mention that it also just opened for lunch service for the season?

All the lobster from Coast

best vancouver food

Marco Ovies/Dished

Is it fair to put an entire tasting menu on this list? Probably not, but Coast’s Summer of Lobster set menu for $68 per person feels like a steal when you consider how much good food you’re getting. The meal consists of three courses, including choices like Miso Butter Lobster Roll, Lobster Thermidor, and Lobster Casarecce Con Salsiccia. Be sure to show up hungry.

Bombay Vada Usal from Kavita

best vancouver food

Marco Ovies/Dished

If you’re someone looking for a great vegetarian or vegan meal, Kavita is the place to do it. Among the many veggie-forward dishes we enjoyed during our dinner, the Bombay Vada Usal was one of our top bites. Here, the team serves the potato fritter with spiced potato matki beans stew, beetroot chutney, and lime leaf.

Address: 250 W. 3rd Ave., Vancouver

Mont Blanc from Small Victory

best vancouver food

Marco Ovies/Dished

Small Victory is one of the few cafes in the city doing this Melbourne-born iced coffee justice. Two shots of espresso are served over ice and topped with this decadent cold foam made with brown sugar, vanilla, blood orange, nutmeg, and Maldon salt.
