We all know dates can be a bit stressful, especially if it’s the first couple.
You want to make sure you look fly as hell, you’re cool, calm, and collected, and mostly, you want to pick out the best location possible.
Although I can’t really help you look good or stop you from talking about that one time you sat on a Jolly Rancher and it was stuck to your pants for hours (I swear that never happened to me), but I can help you find the perfect coffee shop to meet at.
Here are my picks for the best Vancouver coffee shops for dates.

How can you go wrong with a French bakery and coffee shop? It’s a quaint, intimate place where you can just grab a coffee, a few macarons, and just enjoy each other’s company.
Address: 1059 Alberni Street, Vancouver
Matchstick is not only a great coffee shop to snag a great cup of coffee, it’s also got three cafes in prime locations. If the date is going well after the first (or second) coffee you can walk around in Chinatown, Mount Pleasant, or Queen Elizabeth Park.
Address: 4807 Main Street, Vancouver
Address: 639 E 15th Avenue, Vancouver
Address: 213 E Georgia Street, Vancouver
What better way to impress your date then bringing them to one of Vancouver’s most Insta-worthy cafes? Dalina is known for its aesthetically pleasing decor, not to mention the coffee and treats are top notch too.
Address: 687 Main Street, Vancouver
If you want a hip place to grab a great pour over and share one of their delicious cookies, this is where you should have your first date. It’s a big enough space for you to find a comfy place for you two to sit, and if the date is going well you can turn it into a meal by ordering from the stellar brunch and lunch menu.
Address: 302 W Hastings Street, Vancouver
Another stellar French-inspired bakery and coffee shop, and the location is perfect. It’s in the heart of downtown so you can head there and just enjoy people watching together, all while devouring a croissant and delicious latte.
Address: 769 Hornby Street, Vancouver
This Italian coffee shop has three locations, one in Gastown, one on Denman, and one on West 8th. The reason I singled out the West 8th location is for one reason and one reason alone – the view. The view at night is beyond phenomenal. You’re just outside the city and manage to see everything so clearly from their patio. Do yourself a favor and take your date to Milano on West 8th and just enjoy the view and the company.
