A BC RCMP officer is facing a charge of driving without due care and attention while on duty, in relation to an accident that took place in Chilliwack last March.

On March 30 2018, at approximately 5:30 pm, an elderly woman was crossing the road near the 5800 block of Tyson Road, when she was struck by a police vehicle and suffered injuries as a result.
The Independent Investigation Office (IIO) was notified of the incident and subsequently
conducted an investigation.
Today, the BC Prosecution Service (BCPS) announced that Chilliwack RCMP Const. Yannick Leblanc has been charged in connection with the incident.
He is scheduled to make his first court appearance April 23.
The BCPS said that as the matter is now before the courts, they are unable to provide any further information at this time.
