Prancing around the BC Place turf without shoes, socks, pants, or a care in the world, one BC Lions fan got a rude awakening this weekend.
Eluding stadium security, the fan’s run was stopped emphatically by Lions defensive back Marcell Young, who delivered a thunderous hit.

This may shock you: alcohol was a factor.
After running around in his underwear, the fan was escorted off the field by BC Place security, supported by an on-duty Vancouver Police officer.
A Surrey man in his 20s, he was issued with a $115 violation ticket for trespassing, according to the VPD. From there, he was transported to VPD jail, given that he was unable to care for himself “due to his degree of alcohol intoxication.”
And you thought the hit was punishment enough.
The fan was released from VPD cells early Sunday morning, once he was able to care for himself. He could have faced a charge for mischief, though he was not charged with a criminal offence, police say.
Underwear man distracted from what was an otherwise successful evening for the Lions, who won their season-opener 22-10 over the Montreal Alouettes.
