The BC Lions have unveiled a sleek new road jersey.

The Lions showed off a clean “Pacific Frost” away uniform on Wednesday, ahead of their first game of the season in Saskatchewan on June 13.

It’s an all-white design with silver lettering and orange trim, joined with metallic silver pants and helmets. The design was meant to elicit the natural colours of the province.

The new permanent road look will be worn during the Lions’ nine away games this upcoming season.

Superstar quarterback Nathan Rourke and wide receiver Keon Hatcher helped model the jersey with a fitting shoot at Grouse Mountain.

“Designed to feel crisp, cold, and unmistakably West Coast, the BC Lions’ new away uniform draws inspiration directly from the elements that define British Columbia,” the team said in a press release.

“The white jersey, metallic silver helmet, and matching silver pants are a tribute to the mountains, snow, rain, and coastal landscapes surrounding the Lower Mainland.”

The “British Columbia” script of the old away uniforms seems to have switched to say “BC Lions” on the new jerseys.

The new design also pays homage to the franchise’s previous Grey Cups, specifically with the return of the silver helmets. BC wore the same colour of buckets during their 2000 and 1994 Grey Cup championships.

“The new away look also pays homage to a few key historical milestones, while also ushering in the excitement of a new and vibrant era for the franchise,” the team said.

“The Lions enjoyed two of our more memorable Grey Cup victories in silver helmets and pants, while Hall of Famers and Lion legends that include Lui Passaglia, Geroy Simon, Brent Johnson, and the Flutie brothers all shined in silver.”

This new look will replace the previous “fog” grey uniforms and will be the only jerseys that the Lions will wear on the road from now on.

Daily Hive has confirmed that the Lions’ black home jersey will remain unchanged, and the team did not rule out a return of the “Gun Metal” grey uniforms at some point during games at BC Place.

Due to the FIFA World Cup, the Lions will play their first five games of the season away from Vancouver, which includes home games in Kelowna on June 27 and July 4. Their first game back at BC Place is set for July 25.
