BC grade 12 students given wrong transcripts after exam tabulation "anomaly"

Jul 31 2019, 8:26 am

The BC Ministry of Education says that some grade 12 students in BC may have received incorrect grades on their transcripts due to an error in June provincial exam results.

In a statement, the ministry explained that “there was an anomaly in the tabulation of the Grade 12 June exam results and a team of ministry staff are actively working to identify and resolve the issue.”

The ministry is now reviewing each June 2019 exam result to “ensure student grades are accurately reflected on their transcripts.”

All BC secondary schools have been contacted and alerted of the issue.

BC post-secondary institutions have also been made aware of the issue to ensure “no student applications are impacted.”

The ministry is working to contact Canadian post-secondary institutions and will work with outside post-secondary institutions if necessary as well.

“We understand that this situation is stressful for students and families,” said the ministry, in a statement. “We are focused on resolving this as quickly as possible.”
