A McDonald’s on Annacis Island in Delta reopened Saturday morning after temporarily closing on Friday because two staff members tested positive for coronavirus.
The restaurant at 1285 Cliveden Avenue was closed on September 18 for a deep clean, the company told Daily Hive in a statement.
“Out of an abundance of caution, the decision was made to immediately shut down the restaurant for a thorough cleaning and sanitization by a certified third party,” it said.

All other employees who were in close contact with the infected individuals have been asked to self-isolate at home.
The two coronavirus-positive employees may have been infectious while working on September 11 and September 14. Any customers who visited on those days should watch for coronavirus symptoms, the company said.
“We are working to ensure we reopen safely, as we know our guests depend on their local McDonald’s and we are committed to doing our part to help our communities,” it said.
