A six-storey, mixed-use building with employment space has been proposed for the foot of Jackson Street in Vancouver’s Railtown district.

Kirsten Reite Architecture has submitted a development application to redevelop 58 Jackson Avenue with retail and restaurant use on the ground level, creative manufacturing between the second and sixth levels, and general office in a portion of the fifth and sixth levels.

The service-based commercial uses on the ground level are intended to help activate the area with pedestrians.

The proposed floor area is 52,700 sq. ft., giving the project a floor space ratio density of five times the size of its 10,540-sq-ft lot.

A total of 63 vehicle parking stalls are slated for three underground levels.
