There will be a partial closure on the TTC Line 1 January 18 and 19

Jan 15 2020, 9:16 pm

If you’re planning to leave your house this weekend and using the TTC to do it, take note.

The portion of the Line 1 between Sheppard-Yonge and St. Clair stations will be closed on Saturday, January 18 and Sunday, January 19 while Metrolinx crews work on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT.

Replacement shuttle buses will run along Yonge Street throughout the closure, stopping at each subway station along the route. TTC staff will be present to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations, which will vary by location.

While Davisville Station will be closed, all bus routes will continue to operate from the station. At York Mills Station, the Old York Mills Road entrance will be closed. Those using this station are advised to use the other four station entrances located in the York Mills Centre, Yonge Corporate Centre, and at the corner of Yonge Street and Wilson Avenue.

All other stations will remain open for fare sales, access to surface routes and Line 4.

In addition to the shuttles, the 97 Yonge bus and the University side of Line 1 will be available as alternatives during the closure.

Wheel-Trans will also be available upon request from any station throughout the closure. Anyone needing information about service frequency can speak to a TTC staff member.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance after service ends each night, weekend and early weeknight closures are required to complete critical infrastructure and ATC upgrades.
