
A 51-year-old woman who was assaulted in Toronto’s Harbord Village over the weekend has been deemed the city’s 72nd homicide of the year.
On Sunday afternoon, at around 2 pm, emergency crews were called to a residence in the area of Brunswick Avenue and Harbord Street just west of Spadina Avenue for a report of an assault that had taken place inside.
According to police, two people were inside the residence and one of them received injuries to her head.
When crews arrived, the woman was transported to a hospital, but she was later pronounced deceased.

The victim has been identified as 51-year-old Julie Berman of Toronto. As a result, 29-year-old Colin Harnack of Toronto was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
Harnack was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Monday, December 23.
