It’s hard to believe that summer will soon be here.
Not only is it currently a chilly 5°C in Toronto, today’s forecast is showing cloudy skies and periods of rain, with showers and a risk of a thunderstorm later this evening.
At this rate it feels like the warm days of summer filled with rooftop drinks, park hangs, and waterfront bike rides will never arrive.
But what’s even harder to believe is that on this exact day a year ago, the sun was shining and temperatures in Toronto were getting close to the thirties.

Exactly one year ago today, the mercury reached 27°C, and with the humidex, it felt more like 31°C—aka perfect beach weather.
This afternoon, temperatures are expected to reach a high of 14°C, which is almost a difference of 20°C compared to last year.
But hey, things could always be worse. Calgary was hit with 15 cm of snow last weekend and 9 cm more of snow could be on the way this week.
Plus on the bright side, the forecast is showing periods of sun and temperatures are expected to hit the high teens this weekend, which is something to look forward to.
