Christmas market? Been there.
Farmers’ market? Done that!
Shipping container market? That’s new. And Toronto’s about to get one.
Toronto City Councillor Joe Cressy shared a tweet about the upcoming development, mentioning “studios, restaurants, shops and galleries” to come.
Turning vacant downtown land into a vibrant shipping container market, complete with studios, restaurants, shops, and galleries. From affordable housing to affordable retail, it’s time to re-think how we use city owned land. https://t.co/4n4BtrpbDk

Stackt Market, named after the company that’s spearheading it, will cover 100,000 sq. ft of land near the intersection of Bathurst and Front Street.
The containers, designed by Giant Containers, vary in size and offer a unique, aesthetically-pleasing way to fill space that’s been vacant for years.
There’s no firm date set for the market to open yet, but Toronto can expect to be able to visit sometime this spring.
