There's a drive-in Maple Leafs viewing party in Toronto tonight

There’s a Toronto Maple Leafs viewing party on Friday for fans who are looking for a (safe) crowd experience during the NHL postseason.

The Leafs will be playing Game Four against the Columbus Blue Jackets at 8 pm tonight, after an upsetting loss in overtime on Thursday. This time though, you have the chance to watch it all go down live on a massive 40-foot screen, during a drive-in viewing party at OLG Play Stage in Ontario Place.

“Leafs Nation will be able to come together safely to enjoy and experience the excitement of a Leafs playoff game once again at the new drive-in entertainment venue,” organizers said in a release. “With the city as the backdrop, the event will include special guests, giveaways as well as special programming before the game.”

Besides just the game, Danielle Emanuele, the Maple Leafs in-game co-host, will be leading the pre-show with team mascot Carlton the Bear, and “virtual” special guests.

Admission for each vehicle requires a minimum donation of $25, which will go toward the MLSE Foundation and will be available on a game-by-game basis.

Food and apparel will also be for sale through RS (Real Sports) and Real Sports Apparel when purchasing tickets online as well as on-site.

Gates open at 6 pm, the festivities kick-off at 7:30, with the puck drop scheduled for 8 pm. Vehicles are ticketed for a specific lot (the game will be shown in Lot 2), and parking is general admission, so get there early to grab the perfect spot.

For everyone’s safety, there will be a few basic rules. No fan is allowed to leave their vehicle except to go to the restroom, masks and face coverings must be worn outside of vehicles, and everyone is expected to follow physical distancing guidelines at all times.

There will also be no alcohol, coolers, glass bottles, or cameras with detachable lenses allowed.

Just remember to bring the noise (safely) when it’s time to cheer for our boys.
