Here are half a dozen food events happening this week to sink your teeth into.
Croissant Battle
This edition of The Drake’s 86’d Mondays features an epic battle to determine Toronto’s best croissant. Participating in the bake-off: Blackbird Baking, Bonjour Brioche, Mabel’s Bakery, Rahier Patisserie, Patisserie 27, GB Patisserie Program, and La Bastille. Attendees can to sample and vote to help determine the winner.

National Taco Day – LA Style
Fidel Gastro’s Chef, Matt Basile is joined by Chef Wes Avila of the famed LA food truck Guerrilla Tacos for this one-night-only event promising tacos and tequila from the city that does them best.

FREE Birthday Burgers at Harry’s
Harry’s Charbroiled is about to celebrate its first birthday and in celebration, the diner will be giving away FREE burgers and collecting donations for the Parkdale Community Food Bank.

Steambox Dumplings Pop-Up
Good company, cold beers, and a pile of dumplings is the perfect way to spend the first Friday in October as this pop up takes place at the east side brewery.

Thanksgiving-themed Sausage Party
Thanksgiving-themed fully loaded veggie hotdogs and beer are good reasons to give thanks at this festive event. On the menu, dogs topped with vegan stuffing, mushroom gravy and cranberry sauce, another dressed in mac and cheese, fakin’ bacon and panko crunch, and finally, a weiner loaded with sweet potato casserole with torched marshmallows.

This Thanksgiving-themed pop up promises beer and festive food. While the menu has yet to announced, at least you know the beer will be the Best.
