This Toronto park is hosting a massive Earth Day festival this month

There’s no better time to enjoy the great outdoors than Earth Day.

And it just so happens that Downsview Park is hosting a free Earth Day festival on Sunday, April 22.

Each year, Downsview Park hosts an afternoon focused on environmental protection filled with interactive activities and fun for the entire family.

Programming of this year’s Earth Day celebration will offer new and different activities, including a line up of activities, stewardship, and education.

This year’s programming includes:

  • Birds of prey demonstrations (11:30 am to 3:30 pm)
  • Seed ball making
  • Garlic-mustard pesto making (12:30 pm to 1 pm & 3:30 pm to 4 pm)
  • Arts and crafts station – using natural materials
  • Face painting (11:30 am to 3:30 pm)
  • Sing-along by the campfire, complete with marshmallows (11:30 am to 3:30 pm)
  • Family Nature walk (11 am to 12 pm, 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm & 3 pm to 4 pm)
  • Invasive species removal (11:30 am to 12:30 pm & 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm)
  • Litter pick-up
  • Urban Farm Open House, Pop-Up Garden Centre and Plant Sale at Fresh City Farms
