A charity apple pie contest is on in Toronto next month

Got a killer recipe appetite for apple pie? Prove it. Do: Pie, an Apple Pie Contest is being hosted by the Trinity Bellwoods BIA on Sunday, November 12 to raise funds for the Fort York Food Bank and the contest is open to anyone for a participation fee of $10, while spectators can bid on the top three winning pies or buy a slice for $5.

Bakers are required to register and pies must be delivered for judging to the Fort York Food Bank on November 12th between 9:30 am and 11 am. Each entry will be judged on appearance, crust, filling and overall taste by a panel including pie expert, Janelle Lucas of The Pie Commission, Councillor Mike Layton, and Instagrammer Jennifer Emilson (@thelemonapron).
