A conveyor belt aburi sushi spot is opening at Yorkdale Mall this weekend

There’s about to be a new, interactive spot for aburi and oshizushi sushi in Toronto.

Tora, the new concept from the Vancouver restaurant group that’s behind Miku Japanese restaurant and sushi bar, will be opening this Sunday.

At Tora, you’ll be able to place your order on a tablet and then watch as your food is delivered to your table via conveyor belts… similar to those moving walkways at the airport.

Toronto has seen this type of futuristic dining experience before, but this time, the sushi will be blow-torched. It seems that soon enough, all our food will be rolling through restaurants, human-hands-free.

The new spot will be joining the already spectacular dining options already at the mall, including The Cheesecake FactoryJamie’s Italian, and a Lindt Chocolate flagship store.

Which is a great spot to swing by for dessert. If you manage to save a little room.

Because we’re talking blow-torched sushi, here. And there’s a good chance you’re going to want to try everything on the menu.
