Recent track damage has made it necessary for subway trains passing between Warden and Kennedy Stations to travel at reduced speeds, and this repair will allow service in the area to return to normal.
The transit commission had originally scheduled 43 subway closures in 2018 due to upgrades, inspections, and repairs.
But over the past two weekends, the TTC has cancelled its subway closures amid union negotiations.
The next scheduled closure for TTC is for May 26 and 27 is also cancelled.
The planned subway closure this weekend from Lawrence to St Clair stations has been cancelled. Planned closures to the end of June remain at risk due to overtime restrictions for TTC bus drivers. This will be resolved in July with the hiring of more operators.
