Ontario Provincial Police are seeking public assistance identifying the driver of a transport truck driver who was involved in a fatal hit-and-run early Wednesday morning and failed to remain at the scene.
According to OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt, the collision occurred around 12:55 am on Wednesday on Highway 401 under the Keele Street overpass.
Reportedly, a 67-year-old man was outside of his vehicle when he was struck by the transport truck, from which he sustained fatal injuries.

Police say the truck’s breaks were activated and the vehicle almost stopped before continuing eastbound in either the right or second-from-the-right lane.
At this time, police don’t know who was driving the vehicle or what company it was driving for. It is described as a fuel tanker truck or bulk tanker truck with a full-length trailer.
