Pedestrian suffering life-threatening injuries after being struck by vehicle at crosswalk

A pedestrian is suffering from life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle at a crosswalk over the weekend.

On Saturday, December 28 at approximately 5:40 pm, police reportedly responded to a call for a collision that occurred near Martin Grove Road at Dixon Road in the city’s north-west end.

Police say that a 51-year-old man was crossing Dixon Road at Martin Grove Road using the west crosswalk. At the same time, a 20-year-old man was driving a blue 2005 Volvo north on Martin Grove Road, turning left onto Dixon Road.

The 51-year-old was struck, officials say, and was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police are asking local residents, businesses, and drivers who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident to contact investigators.
