Ontario reports highest new daily COVID-19 cases since pandemic began

The Government of Ontario confirmed 978 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday morning, the daily highest count to date since the pandemic began.

Six more deaths have been reported, while 625 more cases are now resolved.

The October 24 count is also higher than Friday’s 826 COVID-19 cases.

Generally, Cases have been high recently with Thursday’s 841Wednesday’s 790Tuesday’s 821Monday’s 704Sunday’s 658,and Saturday’s 805.

Locally in Toronto, there are 349 new cases reported.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says almost 44,200 tests were completed.

There are a total of 69,331 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ontario reported to date.
