Canada's fifth Costco Business Centre opening in Ontario this week

Canada’s fifth-ever Costco Business Centre is opening this week in St. Catharines after the city’s old Costco closed its doors in November of last year.

Opening bright and early on Thursday, April 8 at 6:30 am, this will be Ontario’s third Business Centre, located in the same warehouse as St. Catharine’s now-closed Costco at 3 North Service Road.

Costco’s Business Centres are similar to a regular Costco, but with a restaurant and small business focus, meaning they don’t typically carry household items, books, toys, clothes, and seasonal things.

Instead, there is more restaurant equipment and bigger bulk food items, so if you’re looking to buy a 40 lb bag of potatoes, a 20 lb pack of spaghetti, or even a 3 kg tub of Nutella, this is where you’ll want to go.

“The new Business Centre carries thousands of unique items with the same great quality and value that is expected from Costco,” Costco wrote in a press release. “Open to all Costco members, the Business Centres offer the convenience of shopping, either in person or online, with convenient next business day delivery.”

The old St. Catharines regular Costco was relocated to 7500 Pin Oak Drive in Niagara Falls in November, to allow for the conversion into a Business Centre.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place before the Business Centre opening on Thursday, and St. Catharines Mayor Walter Sendzik will be in attendance.

More details about the new St. Catharines Costco Business Centre will be unveiled at the event, according to the company.
