Momofuku’s newest restaurant Kōjin opens tonight in Toronto.

Named for the Japanese god of fire, the new third-floor restaurant helmed by Executive Chef Paula Navarrete is replacing Daishō and Shōtō which closed earlier this year.

The new restaurant has been teasing out details on Instagram in advance of its opening. According to recent posts, the restaurant is “a celebration of the hearth,” and Navarrete is drawing inspiration from “her childhood in Colombia spent around the grill and the bounty of Ontario’s produce.”

On the opening menu, look forward to corn flatbread with grass-fed butter and spiced honey, shrimp ceviche, fluke crudo, sausage boards, seafood boxes, and wood-fired steaks.
