An Indian multinational technology firm is opening up a new office in Mississauga and hiring hundreds of people to staff the location.
HCL Technologies is expanding its Canadian operations with a new global delivery centre. The company will hire approximately 350 staff in the information and communications technology centre when it opens, and eventually expand to about 500 staff.
“We are very excited to continue expanding our operation in Ontario with our largest facility yet in Canada, ” said Jagadeshwar Gattu, HCL Technologies’ senior corporate vice president, said in a news release.
Ontario government officials welcomed the announcement, adding the province’s deep pool of tech talent will ensure the new office’s success.
“HCL’s decision to expand its operations in Mississauga makes a lot of sense as the GTA is home to the second-biggest tech industry in North America after Silicon Valley,” Premier Doug Ford said in a news release.
