New Toronto restaurant giving away FREE brisket on February 19

In the midst of these frigid winter days, little sounds more comforting than some proper backyard BBQ.

And, lucky for Torontonians, one new King West restaurant will be offering just that — free of charge — on February 19.

To celebrate the spot’s grand opening, Meat & Pie Co. will be giving away free brisket while supplies last on Wednesday, offering everyone in the neighbourhood the chance to sample the sweet spot’s flavours.

For those who can’t wait, the eatery is already soft-open, serving fall-off-the-bone ribs, ooey-gooey mac and cheese, and to finish, “your grandmother’s pies.”

Beyond serving up bold flavours, the restaurant is already making a positive impact on the community, hosting guests from Dixon Hall’s Food Access and Housing Support Workers program, and Covenant House’s Transitional Housing Program and Culinary Training Program, with the intention of “giving back.”

Plus, the spot has partnered with Second Harvest to give away surplus food that’s still good to eat.

In the coming weeks, the restaurant will also be introducing the city’s first non-alcoholic bar. Stay tuned for more info on that front.

Until then, enjoy your…
