A man has been arrested after allegedly climbing onto a crane while carrying a parachute in the Yorkville area on Sunday evening.

Officers say they responded to the area of Yorkville Avenue and Yonge Street after receiving reports of a break and entering involving a man who broke into a building and climbed onto a crane at the top of the structure.

Police allege the suspect had a parachute with him at the time.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene, the man was arrested.

As a result of the incident, the roads in the area were closed.

This isn’t the first time someone has climbed onto a crane in Toronto.

Just last year, emergency crews had to rescue a woman who was stuck inside the compartment of a crane in downtown Toronto.

Then in April 2017, a 23-year-old woman was rescued from a crane after being stuck for hours overnight in the area of Church and Wellesley.
