Lotto Max second prize split between two lucky lottery players

They may not have won the Lotto Max jackpot, but two Canadian lottery players will still get to take home an impressive win.

The Lotto Max draw took place on Tuesday, March 4, with a $20-million prize up for grabs. According to PlayNow, the winning numbers were 15, 21, 26, 35, 36, 43, 45, and bonus 41, but no one will take home the jackpot this time.

But after they matched six of the seven winning numbers and the bonus number, two lottery players came close to a big win, netting themselves the second prize. Split between them, each will walk away with a cheque for $70,669.10. Both tickets were sold in Ontario.

The third prize will be split among 28 people after they matched six of the seven winning numbers. Each will receive $5,047.80.

The Lotto Max Extra winning numbers were 52, 56, 65, and 92; however, no one in BC won the $500,000 prize. Similarly, in Ontario, no one matched the Encore winning number 9705396, to win the $1-million prize.

The last time someone won the Lotto Max jackpot was on Feb. 21, when a lottery player won a life-changing $40-million prize. According to OLG, the lucky ticket was sold in Oshawa, Ont.

Another Ontario resident from nearby Bowmanville won the second prize worth $176,610.40.

If you hope to try your luck again, the next draw will take place on Friday, March 7, and the jackpot has now reached $25 million.
