Canadian lottery player $1 million richer, three split second prize

It was a lucky weekend for several Canadian lottery players who are celebrating impressive wins.

The Lotto Max draw took place on Friday, Feb. 28, and according to PlayNow, the winning numbers were 04, 06, 15, 16, 35, 43, 44, and bonus 29; however, no one matched them to win the $15 million jackpot. To win the second prize, one must match six of the seven winning numbers and the bonus number, but no one won the $154,053.10 prize.

After they matched six of the seven winning numbers, 29 Canadian lottery players will each receive $5,312.20 after splitting the third prize.

No one won the Lotto Max Extra prize worth $500,000 in B.C. Similarly, in Ontario, no one won the $1-million Encore prize, according to OLG. The next Lotto Max draw is set for Tuesday, March 4, and the jackpot is now worth $20 million.

The Lotto 6/49 draw took place on March 1, and although no one won the $22 million Gold Ball prize, one lottery player is now $1 million richer after they matched the White Ball winning number 83888358-01. According to Atlantic Lottery, the winning ticket was sold in Inverness County, N.S.

No one matched the Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw winning numbers 15, 19, 25, 33, 40, 42, and bonus 13 to win the $5 million prize. However, after they matched five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number, three people will split the second prize, each receiving $80,911.80. One winning ticket was sold in Ontario, and two were sold in Quebec.

There was also a Super Draw with 25 guaranteed prizes, each worth $10,000. One winning ticket was sold in Kamloops, B.C.; seven in Western Canada; 10 in Ontario; five in Quebec; and two in Atlantic Canada.

Although no one won the Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw Extra prize worth $500,000, someone in Ontario won the Encore prize worth $1 million.

The next Lotto 6/49 draw is set for Wednesday, March 5, and the Gold Ball jackpot is now worth $24 million.
