Le Dolci is expanding across the city!

The Dundas West bake shop known for its creative custom cakes is opening a new retail spot AND an event space.

Owner Lisa Sanguedolce shares with Daily Hive that she’s opening a cake and confections counter neighboured by Sweet Jesus and Love Me Sweet at Scarborough Town Centre. Where, in addition to ready-made birthday cakes, look forward to coffee and teas, morning baked goods and afternoon snacks.

Customers will also be able to pick up custom cakes at this location too.

The new shop is designed by HGTV’s Sarah Keenleyside who says her and her team at Qanuk Interiors wanted to create a space that “encapsulated the whimsy and elegance of Le Dolci’s range of cakes and confections.”

Construction kicks off the first week of October and the store could be open as early as the week following.

In addition to the new retail outlet, Le Dolci is also opening an event space called The Loft at 114 Geary Avenue near Dupont and Dovercourt.

Complete with a kitchen and open floor plan, this space will be available for private parties and events, and will also host classes and workshops as of mid-September. For parties and events, catering will be available in partnership with Kanpai Snack Bar so there’s a whole spectrum of sweet and savoury to choose from.

Booking for the holiday season has already begun.
