The east end just lost a much-loved Korean fried chicken hub

This city can’t catch a break.

First, the west end learned of Dumbo’s closing. Beloved lawn games bar Track & Field quickly followed, with Cookie Scoop not far behind.

And today, the east end takes a hit.

Kaboom Chicken has announced that as of Friday, its doors at 722 Queen Street East will be closed for good.

“We’ve had so much fun serving our Korean Goodness to all of our customers,” they wrote in an Instagram caption, “and are unbelievably grateful for all the support and love we’ve received.”

Which means that those in Riverside are going to need to find somewhere else to satisfy any Korean fried chicken cravings.

Don’t grieve too long though, because the spot shared on Instagram that they’re on the hunt for a new location. Until it’s found, the post reads that they’re looking into possible festivals and pop-ups.

This Friday, May 24, we’ll be closing the doors at 722 Queen East for the last time. We’ve had so much fun serving our Korean Goodness to all of our customers, and are unbelievably grateful for all the support and love we’ve received. Thank you. Although we’re going to be without a storefront for a bit, the search is already underway for a new location. In the meantime, the team is working on some possible festivals and pop-ups, so stay tuned for more updates!
