Icefest is taking over Yorkville next month

Jan 15 2020, 7:26 pm

This February marks the return of Toronto’s 15th annual Icefest in Yorkville.

Toronto’s historic Yorkville neighbourhood will be transformed into a showcase of delicate, stunning ice sculptures using over 70,000 lbs of crystal clear ice over the weekend of February 8.

This year’s theme is Awesome 80s, turning Yorkville into a magical display of retro-cool winter.

And yes, there will be an ice sculpture of the DeLorean from Back to the Future.

Additionally, ice carvers will be creating unique sculptures at the Annual Sassafraz Ice Carving Competition taking place in the Village of Yorkville Park, starting at noon on Saturday, February 8.

Visitors should also stop by the Icefest Lounge to check out the DJs, take a selfie or group photo at the Icefest Photo Booth or plug in their mobile phones at one of the charging stations.

Also returning will be the Icefest Scavenger Hunt on Saturday and Sunday, creating a special opportunity to explore the neighbourhood’s shops and attractions.

Specialty cocktails will also be available on the Icefest Sassafraz Patio.

So clear some room in your calendars this weekend, as this is a winter event you won’t want to miss!
