Good Hombres: Toronto is getting a new taqueria and tortillería

Toronto is about to gain a new source for top-notch tacos made on fresh tortillas! Good Hombres, going in on Bathurst just north of Dundas, is the latest taqueria and tortillería from Daniel Roe, Javier Flores, and Raena Fisher – the same folks behind Campechano.
“The space will be a tortillería on one side and a taqueria on the other…” Roe shares in an email to Daily Hive.
On the tortilla side, Roe looks forward to showcasing “a very traditional tortilla machine” that we brought from Mexico City. Tortillas will be sold by weight and will be made in front of you as you order them. Our goal is to teach people that tortillas are not a product you put in your fridge for the week, they are a fresh product – just like a French baguette – and they will be sold by weight so you can buy whatever amount you want.”
Meanwhile, on the taqueria side, “it will be loud and messy – hopefully bringing Mexicans back to their neighbourhood tortilleria.” Expect quick service, featuring a new menu of tacos that “will be cheap, simple and delicious,” plus seating at a long bar overlooking the tortilla machine and kitchen.
If all goes according to place Good Hombres could be open the first week of May!
