Sam James coffee to return to the Ossington Strip this summer

The King of coffee is coming home.
Yes – Sam James Coffee Bar will be returning to the Ossington Strip this summer. But not, perhaps, in the traditional coffee shop style that you might expect.
Instead, SJCB will be a part of a greater whole: a new restaurant concept from Chefs Jonathan Poon and Jesse Fader, who are behind Paris Paris, Superpoint and Superpoint Express.

Favorites (yes, with that spelling) is set to offer up a flaming hot, smokey, char-grilled stack of Thai BBQ, plenty of salads and a roster of natural wines.
The pair studied briefly in Thailand this past fall, under the guidance of some of the country’s most notable chefs. That experience, plus aid from partner Monte Wan of Khao San Road, means that this spot will be serving fire, no doubt.
And it’s not just BBQ this place will be slingin’. That’s where SJCB comes in.
According to a release, the partners reached out to Sam James and convinced him finally to make his return to the Ossington Strip.
“Coffee nerds rejoice, the King has come home. Posting up in the building’s storefront at 141 Ossington Ave. will be your new (old) favorite coffee bench,” the release reads.
