Toronto is about to get a 'first-of-its-kind' youth outreach cafe

This weekend, Midtown Toronto will gain a new community space.

And it’s going to be delicious.

On Saturday, June 8, Transform Community Café will open in the Yonge and Davisville neighbourhood. The new eatery will serve healthy, ethically-sourced selections as well as free youth-focused programming.

Transform Community Café

Run by Toronto-based not-for-profit organization Transform Community Group Inc., the space will serve as a spot for young Torontonians to learn about music, visual arts, creative writing, restorative exercise, and mentorship.

The intention behind the free programming is to offer tools to cultivate emotional resilience through creative practices.

“The idea behind this space is to offer youth the tools to cultivate authentic self-expression
along with consistent access to, and mentorship from, entrepreneurs and prominent
community leaders with the intention of developing valuable skill sets and fostering mental,
physical, and emotional well-being,” Pippa Elolia, program director for the cafe, said in a release.

In addition to daytime programs, the space will also see jam nights, open mic sessions, gallery showings, and other special events.

And the safe, encouraging and comfy vibes that the spot is serving up come alongside a mouthwatering menu of eats that are sure to leave you feeling vibrant.

Gluten-free and vegan dietary needs are met across the menu, and everything offered is fresh and cheerful. Opt for a personal pizza, a vegan salad, a lox bagel, cookies, or a gorgeous slice of decadent chocolate cake.

Located at 2025 Yonge Street, the cozy café is about to become a new community hub.

Stop in for the Grand Opening on June 8 from 11 am to 1 pm for a chance to try some of the menu’s mouthwatering options and to see performances by local artists.
