Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Toronto which means you might be ringing in the new year with celebratory showers.
The statement was issued this afternoon and is in effect for the entire City of Toronto.
“Rain is expected for the remainder of this afternoon and into the evening before tapering to scattered showers later this evening,” says the weather website. “Rainfall amounts of up to 25 mm will be possible in some areas.”
Environment Canada warns that drivers and pedestrians are advised to exercise caution in the rain and darkness this evening, especially during New Year’s Eve parties.
Environment Canada urges citizens to monitor weather alerts and updates and to be safe when travelling outside.
