Butter Chicken Roti serving FREE snacks this weekend for Diwali

It’s nearly time to celebrate Diwali, the Indian festival of Lights and Hindu New Year, and Butter Chicken Roti is doing its part to help you honour this special time.

From Friday, October 25, through to Sunday, October 27, the eatery’s 10 locations across Toronto will be serving up FREE special snacks with any purchase you make.

The treat you can look forward to is called Pani Puri, which is as much of a joy to eat as it is delicious… because it self-destructs in 10 seconds. Gasp!

Pani Puri consists of a hollow, crispy semolina ball that’s stuffed with a mixture of spiced potatoes and chickpeas, and then dressed with sweet and spicy chutneys. Finally, the bites are topped with a shot of tangy and tart firewater that shocks your system.

If you don’t pop the goods into your mouth within 10 seconds, it’ll melt into a sticky mess.

The Pani Puri dish is a part of a new ‘Mumbai Streetfood’ menu that’s coming to all 10 Butter Chicken Roti locations on Friday, which will feature a variety of other bits and bites that are sure to take you right down to Flavourtown.

Stop into any of the eatery’s locations to enjoy this special, limited-time treat, or make the trip to the King and Jarvis storefront to enjoy a Diwali Pop-up experience, featuring a rustic Pani Puri cart imported from the streets of Mumbai, Rangoli floor art and festive Diwali decor.
