Toronto Police arrest 6 people after Boxing Day home invasion and theft

Dec 31 2019, 6:11 pm

Six people, all from Toronto, have been arrested with various charges after a home invasion and robbery that took place on Boxing Day.

Police say that on Thursday, December 26, a man, 35, and two women, 20 and 25, were in a home in the Adelaide Street West and Peter Street area at about 6:30 pm.

While the man was distracted, one of the women reportedly let three unknown men and another woman into the home. One of the men was armed with a black handgun, according to officials.

Law enforcement says the victim — a 35-year-old man — was punched and kicked before threats to shoot him were made if he did not give up his valuables.

The suspects reportedly took items including the victim’s wallet, a Breitling watch, and the keys to his Mercedes Benz. The unknown men and woman, as well as the aforementioned 20- and 25-year-old women, then fled the scene.

A short time later, officers arrested all six people.
