NHL players do Halloween right.
Getting dressed up for team Halloween parties and sharing photos on social media has become an annual tradition, and the hope every year is they will display their creativity in positive and humorous ways.
So far so good in 2018, as hockey fans have been delighted with some awesome Halloween costumes donned by some of their favourite players.
Here’s a look at some of the best.

Tiny bones
Matt Duchene of the Ottawa Senators and his wife Ashley used the occasion to announce some huge news.
Kanata Nights: The Legend of Marky Bobby
Two more Senators – namely Mark Stone and Brady Tkachuk – teamed up with Stone’s girlfriend Hayley Thompsonn. “Are you serious? I was gone for three hours!”
3-star rank in Dallas
Shifting gears to the Western Conference, a trio of Dallas Stars dressed up as some Mario Kart characters that few would have ever selected in the game – Toad is clearly the best choice.
But Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn, and Alex Radulov pulled it off, although the latter didn’t put much effort in Yoshi’s torso and legs. Seguin must be really into Mario these days in light of the brilliant contract extension announcement earlier this season.
Beauty and the Bish
Stars’ teammate Ben Bishop dressed up as Beast, which is how he needs to play in net in order for this team to compete in the ultra-tough Central Division.

The McSimspons
A year after dressing as Donald Trump, Edmonton Oilers Connor McDavid and girlfriend Lauren Kyle took a safer route by appearing as Homer and Marge Simpson.
Alex Doo-Brincat
This one is a blast from the past but too good not to share – it’s a young Alex DeBrincat of the Chicago Blackhawks dressed as Scrappy Doo.

Spreading Halloween cheers
Another great Halloween hockey tradition is teams dressing up and visiting their local children’s hospital, as exemplified here by the Boston Bruins.
"Hopefully put a little smile on a kids face…that's obviously the main reason, try to brighten up kids days."

Role play
Speaking of Halloween cheer, these young fans dressed up dressed up as Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas and the player Leafs fans want him to sign already, William Nylander.

A bonus pumpkin carving idea, you can’t go wrong with Gritty.
Best of the rest
Carey Price and his wife Angela:
Colonel Sanders and PK Subban, playing the role of the chicken.
Alex Ovechkin and his wife were heating things up at the Washington Capitals’ Halloween party in these firefighter costumes.
Here’s what the rest of the Caps were up to.
Terrifying stuff from Red Wings goaltender Jonathan Bernier, and his wife Martine.
That’s a lot of green body paint on Pierre-Edouard Bellemare of the Vegas Golden Knights.
And finally, this was absolutely incredible. New Jersey Devils centre Blake Coleman and his significant other, Jordan Daigle, dressed up as each other. Now a sideline reporter for CBS, Daigle is a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader.
