A beautiful flower moon will take over Toronto skies this May

You can look up to the skies in May to experience a beautiful full flower moon.

What do flowers and the moon have in common you might ask?

Well, according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, the May full Moon marked a time of increasing fertility, with temperatures warm enough for safely bearing young, a near end to late frosts, and plants in bloom.

May’s full moons are also called Mother’s Moon, Milk Moon, and Corn Planting Moon.

So, there may not be actual flowers appearing on the moon, but you will get to enjoy the bright beauty of the full flower moon.

This will be the third “special” moon that Torontonians will get to enjoy this year.

In January, the rare super blood wolf moon adorned the Canadian sky in all of its orange and red beauty.

Then, in April, the pink moon brought another bright colour to our dark skies. It made an appearance this month and is considered an April phenomenon.

The full flower moon will reach peak illumination on May 18 at precisely 5:11 pm.
