What to eat in and around Seattle today: Hot Cakes

Jul 10 2020, 8:04 pm

With Seattle giving us gloomy vibes this month, we don’t blame you if you’ve been staying in, curled up in blankets with a good book.

The only thing that we could recommend to top off your experience is picking up a molten lava cake from Hot Cakes.

The restaurant serves up some of the best molten chocolate cakes in the city, each one warm and gooey in the middle, and cakey on the outside.

Hot Cakes offers vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free options. Pick between a dark chocolate cake with dry-burned caramel, a gooey brownie cake with salty toasted cashews, peanut butter molten cake, strawberry cake, or a s’mores cake.

If you’re not in a cake-eating mood, enjoy a warm cookie and ice cream. Hot Cakes serves them with vanilla ice cream, dry burned caramel sauce, and your choice of toppings.

Finally, to top off your dessert experience, order a salty peanut butter cup pie, shortcake, chocolate coconut pudding, or frozen milkshake.

While we recommend eating-in, Hot Cakes sells special take and bake jars, perfect for keeping in the pantry and baking when you’re having a lava cake craving.
