A brand new crab shack is opening in Seattle tomorrow

After shutting down their dining room in early March, Canlis has fully changed up their restaurant model to accommodate Governor Jay Inslee’s new mandates.

Between drive-in movies, family lunch boxes, a piano livestream, and now a crab shack, it’s safe to say that the fine-dining establishment is making the most of the pandemic.

The Canlis Crab Shack is a brand-new outdoor restaurant in the Canlis parking lot and features “buckets of crab, icy beverages, and cocktails on draft.”

For $59.95 a person, enjoy house-made green garlic-miso potato chips with sockeye salmon dip, a whole Dungeness crab, wood oven-roasted corn, heirloom tomato carpaccio, sea lettuce parker house rolls, and a fresh berry galette.

The entirely outdoor restaurant has been built with safety in mind — all seated guests will be a minimum of six feet apart, and tables have built-in hand sanitizer pumps and are wrapped in polyurethane. Canlis is ensuring that their team will be wearing masks and gloves, and customers without masks will not be allowed into the restaurant.

Before entering the restaurant, guests will have their temperatures checked. Those with temperatures over 100.4°F will be turned away, with the reservation cancelled and the entire party refunded.

The restaurant opens on July 16 and is set to stay open for at least a month. Those interested in stopping by will be required to purchase a ticket, which will be available for purchase online starting July 10 at 1 pm.
