US surpasses China with the most confirmed coronavirus cases

As of March 26, the US has surpassed China as the country with the most known COVID-19 cases.

According to the information gathered and displayed by Johns Hopkins University, the 83,000+ cases within the US makes our country the hardest hit in the world.

Originating from the Wuhan Province of China, the coronavirus spread has been leveling off there, while the United States is still very much on a steep incline.

The White House and the Coronavirus Task Force have been issuing sweeping assistance to medical personnel across the country, as well as reinforcing guidelines set forth by the Center for Disease Control.

Senate recently passed a stimulus package that seeks to supply assistance to those in dire straits, including a staggering three million Americans who have lost their jobs in recent weeks because of the pandemic.

At the time of publication, there are 83,507 known cases of coronavirus in the US listed on the JHU data map. In comparison, there are 81,782 in China, 80,589 in Italy, and 57,786 in Spain.
