There’s something about watching the sun set that makes all your stresses melt away, and Portland has several gorgeous spots where you can experience this daily event. Here are a few!

Rocky Butte is one of the most gorgeous spots to catch the sun set over Portland. Located next to I-205, Rocky Butte is an extinct volcano and is part of the Boring Lava Field, a volcanic field filled with cinder cones and shield volcanoes in Northern Willamette Valley.

Nansen Summit Park is the top of Mount Sylvania, a million-year-old volcano in Lake Oswego’s Mountain Park neighborhood. It’s an incredible place to see the sun display breathtaking colors over the city’s landscape.

This character-filled tavern is situated on the edge of Forest Park, along the Skyline Boulevard. It’s one of the best places in Portland to catch some awesome views of the sunset while sipping on a pint of beer snacking on and delicious food.

Council Crest Park is a beautiful spot that overlooks the city of Portland and offers incredible views of the area. This is another lovely spot in the city where you can catch the sun setting with your loved ones.

This forest-covered mountain peak is located outside the city of Portland and is situated on top of a volcanic vent. While it’s a great spot for hiking, it’s an equally great spot to catch the sun set over the city.
